This is not a USRowing registered indoor regatta, however, Article XI of the USRowing Rules of Rowing will be largely enforced and is noted in these rules. For the purposes of enforcement of the rules, the Regatta Director shall serve as "Chief Referee" and is a USRowing Licensed Referee. All decisions of the Chief Referee are final.
Entry Rules
- Registration for this race will be through RegattaCentral.com.
- Please note that there are no refunds for this event. All entry fees must be paid in full before you will be issued a registration card.
- Once online entries have closed, your only option for entering is a same-day entry, which will be on a space-available basis.
- Same-day entries close one hour before race time.
- Teams that would like to pay for all of their registrations by check must inform the regatta ahead of time and must ensure that all of their competitors are properly registered under the same team name.
- Payment must be made before any competitor from that team will be permitted to race.
- Once you have registered for an event, changing to a different event will be on a space-available basis. Be sure to check the rules below and register for the correct event.
Eligibility Rules
- U12- Must be in either 4th or 5th Grade.
- U15- Must be in 6th through 8th Grade.
- U17- Must not attain the age of 17 in the calendar year 2025.
- Freshman- Must qualify as a U17 rule and be in the 9th Grade.
- U19- Must not attain the age of 19 in the calendar year 2025, or be, and have been, continuously enrolled in a secondary school as a full-time student and will be graduating from secondary school before July 1, 2025. See USRowing rule 4-104.1(c-d).
- U17 athletes MAY row up into the U19 event if they want an official 2000-meter time. Be sure to register for the U19 event.
- Open- No age restrictions.
- Masters- Age calculated by subtracting the year of birth from 2025, regardless of birth date.
Race Schedule
The times on the race schedule are the time at which that event division will start. Your specific race may be anywhere within that time window. Please consult your registration card for a more precise time. These times are subject to minor changes (+/- 30 minutes). A more precise schedule, with erg assignments, will be posted on Friday morning before the regatta under the Heat Sheet/Draw tab on RegattaCentral.
- The format for the Mohawk Meltdown is the same as C.R.A.S.H.-B. Sprints. Events are final only.
- Keep in mind that events may have enough entries to require multiple races to accommodate all athletes. The best overall time/distance from all of the races will win the event.
- Based on the number of competitors, multiple Events of the same distance/time may be conducted simultaneously.
- Do not confuse your "Event" with your "Race". Watch the clock!
- Events have numbers.
- Races have times.
General Rules
- All athletes must check in with registration at the entrance to the gym.
- Athletes should plan to check in at the registration desk no less than one hour before their event.
- This is the final opportunity to confirm:
- Correct Event
- Correct Name
- Correct Team
- All athletes will be required to submit a waiver.
- Athletes under 18 MUST have that waiver signed by a parent/guardian or if representing a USRowing Member team, have a team waiver submitted by their coach.
- Athletes will be issued a registration card that they will need to keep with them. These cards will be used for backup timing. Do not lose your card!
- You will not be admitted to the race floor without your card.
- Your card will have your race time and your erg assignment.
- All competitors must check in with a volunteer at their assigned erg with a registration card to confirm their race and erg assignments.
- Athletes not on the correct erg two minutes before race time may be excluded.
- The volunteer will record your race results on the card manually as a backup to the computer timing.
- These cards will be retained by volunteers at the conclusion of the athlete's race.
- Each competitor will be issued one ticket for a coxswain/coach to accompany them.
- The coach/coxswain will not be admitted to the race floor without a ticket.
- Only one coxswain/coach per rower will be permitted on the race floor.
- All competitors must, at a minimum, wear a shirt and shorts or a unisuit while in the school building.
Racing
- Performance monitors will be in Race Mode. The buttons will not work. The erg's Drag Factor will be displayed on the performance monitor during warm-up.
- Athletes may set their erg fan damper before the start of their race, but may not change it once the start sequence has begun, consistent with USRowing rule 11-201.
- Coaches/Coxswains must sit behind their rower and may not touch the rower or the erg once the start sequence has begun. See USRowing rules 11-210(d).
- Coaches/coxswains standing or walking around during the race may create an unfair racing environment for other athletes. Plan your coaches and coxswain accordingly, or coach from outside of the barrier.
- Failure to comply with this rule may result in the exclusion of all rowers involved.
- See USRowing rules 11-209 and 11-210.
- Due to safety concerns, we strongly discourage the use of any headphones during the competition. Wired headphones are prohibited.
- After racing, all athletes, coaches, and coxswain must exit via the posted exits.
- Crossing under or over the caution tape barrier may create a dangerous or unfair racing environment and is strictly prohibited.

- 1-2 Competitors- 1st Place Only
- 3-5 Competitors- 1st and 2nd Place
- 6-12 Competitors- 1st through 3rd Place
- 13-20 Competitors- 1st through 4th Place
- 21+ Competitors- 1st through 5th Place
Based on the number of actual competitors in the event, not the number of entries.
